Coach Tiffany Chambers


Coach Tiffany Chambers founded Almaden Spirit Athletics in 2009 and has since dedicated her life to seeing the program grow.  She cheered and danced at the competitive level for over 20 years at the Youth, School, and Allstar levels. As a former Golden State Warrior Cheerleader, JAMZ Staff member and National Champion, Tiffany has brought years of knowledge from her experience in the industry. Coach Tiffany has been coaching for 9 years in the Almaden Community and has led many of her Middle School, High School and Allstar teams to National Championships, Grand Championships and All Level World Competitors. She was also the Head Coach of Bret Harte Middle School's First Place National Championship Cheer Team. In 2015, Tiffany led her Senior Hip Hop Team, Onyx, to Top 20 at the Dance Worlds in Orlando, Florida. In 2017, Tiffany led her Open Hip Hop Team, Paragon, to the Dance Worlds where they placed 2nd in the Nation at the US Worlds Trials and 3rd in the World in the Open Hip Hop Division. Tiffany has worked with several teams and choreographed numerous all star level routines as well as middle school and high school half time routines. 

Coach Nina Derksen



Coach Shefali Bhagath


Coach Shefali has been dancing for 14 years. She has competed at the Dance Summit in Orlando, Florida in 2015 and 2016 with her Junior Hip Hop team, and the Dance Worlds, also in Orlando, Florida with her Senior Hip Hop team in 2016 and 2017. In 2016, her Junior Hip Hop team, Zircon, made ASA history when they received a Full Paid Bid to the Dance Summit. Throughout her years of all-star hip hop, Shefali has been the captain of her team, voted "Most Inspirational" and "Most Creative" by her coaches, and has multiple national championship titles under her belt. She is also trained in Bollywood and the Indian classical dance form of Kathak. She is very excited to be coaching Team Topaz and Team Emerald this season and looks forward to sharing her passion for dance with the athletes as well as seeing them progress through the season!

Coach Alaizza Rato


Coach Alaizza started acrobatic gymnastics at the age of 8, and competed in many regional and national competitions for three seasons. Now, she has been dancing for 8 years and has won many national championships at local competitions. She is a 4x competitor at the Dance Worlds in Orlando, Florida with the Senior Hip Hop team and the Open Hip Hop team. She first competed at the Dance Worlds in 2014 with her Senior Hip Hop team, again in 2015 where her team placed top 20 at Dance Worlds Finals, and in 2016 and 2017 with the Open Hip Hop team, Paragon. Paragon placed 2nd in the nation and 3rd in the world at the 2017 Dance Worlds. This will be her sixth year with ASA, and she is very excited for the upcoming season!

Coach Lexi Montes


Coach Lexi has been dancing for 5 years and cheering for 8, in both the middle/high school and allstar programs. She has won National Championship titles as well as Grand Champion titles at various competitions. On past teams, Lexi has been voted "Most Valuable Player," "Best Sportsmanship," and "Best Back Spot" throughout her cheer career by her teammates and coaches. She is looking forward to her second year of coaching at ASA! Coach Lexi loves the sport of cheerleading and watching it bring athletes together, combining each of their talents to achieve a common goal.

Coach Brooke Darrough

Coach Brooke has been cheering at the competitive level for 6 years throughout middle school and high school. She cheered on her competitive cheer team at Bret Harte and Leland, as well as her All Star Senior Level 3 team at Almaden Spirit Athletics. Throughout her cheerleading career, Brooke has been captain, voted best flyer, and most flexible by her teammates and has received the All-American Cheer Award many times at summer camps. She also has won 3 national championship titles as well as multiple grand champion titles at various competitions. Brooke loves the sport of cheerleading and is so excited to be coaching at ASA this season!

Coach Kayla Leon

Coach Kayla has been cheering for 7 years and dancing for 2 years, moving her way from Pop Warner to All Star. Throughout her years of allstar cheer and dance, she has won four national championship titles. She was awarded “Most Dedicated” by her coaches and was the April “Athlete of the Month” in 2016. She has competed at the Dance Worlds, Dance Summit, and Cheer D2 Summit. Kayla is very excited to be spending her fourth year at ASA coaching this season!

Coach Madi Amaral

Coach Madi began dancing at a young age, participated in several competitive sports, and began dancing competitively in middle school. She has been with ASA for over 5 years on both the Senior and Open Hip Hop teams. She was on the Open Hip Hop team at age 14 and was voted captain of her Senior Hip Hop team by her teammates. Over her years at ASA, she has obtained several national championship titles, received 3 bids to the Dance Worlds in Orlando, Florida and has competed twice in the Dance Worlds Finals. She is a 2017 Dance Worlds Bronze Medalist. She is very excited to coach Teams Jasper and Amethyst this season!

Coach Paria Harirsaz


Coach Paria has been cheering since the age of 15. From the moment she began, she realized the world of competitive cheer is what she loves and needs to be involved in whether as an athlete or a coach. In 2015, Paria attended the Cheer Summit, where her team placed in the top 10. Last season, she coached her Youth Level 1 team, Opalite, to the 2017 D2 Summit, marking the first year ASA sent teams to this prestigious event. Paria’s goals for the teams she coaches are to have them do their very best, work hard, grow as people, and love the experience as much as she did as an athlete.

Coach Corrinne Gwartney


Coach Corrinne started all-star cheerleading six years ago and quickly fell in love with the sport. She has won multiple National Championship titles throughout her years as a Level 1,2 & 3 athlete. In 2015, her team placed top 10 at The Summit. In 2016, her team placed 3rd at the prestigious NCA Nationals in Dallas, Texas. Corrinne has been on youth, junior, and senior teams, prepping her to work with all ages. She is very excited to be coaching Team Ruby and Team Cobalt this season!

Coach Matthew Hendrickson

Coach Neda Najafi

  • Tumbling Instructor

Coach Neda has been cheering, dancing, and doing gymnastics since she was 5. When she was 12, she competed on an Acro team and then started cheering for her local high school after that and quickly realized her love of competitive cheerleading. She competed at Nationals 4 consecutive years in a row and her team took 3rd place out of 20. On past teams, Neda has been voted "Best Sportsmanship" and "Best Tumbler" by her teammates and coaches. She is eager and ready to get back into things as a ASA coach with her love of cheerleading being her motivation!

Advisor Shelby Roy


Shelby is very excited to be taking on the role of ASA Advisor this year and looks forward to getting to know all our athletes and parents. Her main roles this season will be Gym Communications and Competition Registration. This will be Shelby's third year as an ASA Parent! Her daughter Cate is on Tiny Pearls and Coral. When she is not driving her children to and from ASA, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching the 49ers, and traveling.

Advisor Kari Johnson


Entering her fourth season as an ASA Parent, Kari grew up dancing and absolutely loves watching her daughters, Brooke and Taylor, perform. The highlight of her time at ASA has been seeing her girls compete at the D2 Summit and the Dance Summit. Given that Brooke and Taylor spend five days a week at the gym with their cheer and dance teams, joining the advisory team this season as the Apparel and Equipment Advisor seemed to be a natural transition.
